Your Brentwood Orthodontist

Dr. Kristen Hann

Dr. Kristen Hann earned her Bachelor of Arts in Applied Sciences and Doctorate of Dental Surgery degrees from the University of the Pacific in San Francisco. She also received a certificate in the specialty of orthodontics from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.

In the three years of her specialty training, Dr. Kristen diagnosed, planned treatment, and treated comprehensive orthodontic, limited and adjunctive orthodontic, and orthognathic surgery cases for children and adults. She utilized many techniques and appliances including expanders, temporary anchorage devices, traditional braces, self-ligating braces, esthetic braces, lingual braces, and Invisalign.

Dr. Kristen co-treated many cases with other members of her dental team. These cases included utilizing orthodontics to correct periodontal defects and resolving periodontal problems related to occlusal trauma, splint therapy for TMD before and during treatment, and aligning teeth prior to extensive restorative therapy to enable easier tooth preparation and healthier distribution of forces. Dr. Kristen also treated patients with cleft lip and palate and craniofacial anomalies along with the team at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Dr. Frank Hann

Dr. Frank Hann thought he would grow up to be a pediatrician before he realized how much he loved working with patients to create healthy, functional, and beautiful smiles that last a lifetime. After majoring in biology and enjoying his time as a member of the Chi Phi fraternity, he went on to dental school and a residency in orthodontics before eventually founding Hann Orthodontics. Dr. Frank loves serving the Brentwood community, and particularly enjoys working with young people, encouraging them to participate in their own treatment plan in order to make the most of it. He believes in always doing his very best work, and treats every patient as family from the moment they walk through the office door.

Next to his wonderful family, he's most proud of his orthodontic career and the thousands of smiles he’s improved over the last 30 years. Inside and outside the office, Dr. Frank keeps himself busy – he plays tennis, is a regular churchgoer, and loves to watch sports and movies.

He treasures the time he’s able to spend with his family and friends, and Dr. Frank raced sports cars for more than 20 years. When you come to Hann Orthodontics, you not only get the best in orthodontic care, you get the coolest in orthodontists.

Why an Orthodontist?

Orthodontist vs. Dentist

An orthodontist is a dentist, but a dentist is not an Orthodontist. All orthodontists are dentists first, but though not every dentist has the qualifications to be an orthodontist. Our doctors continued their formal education for 2 or 3 additional years before receiving the necessary license and certification. As orthodontists, our doctors have spent years studying nothing but how and why to move teeth. This includes what to do, how to plan, and how to execute the appropriate treatment plan.

Why does it matter if you see your Brentwood Orthodontist?

Specialists receive additional training to give them the skills needed to deal with more complex orthodontic problems. Dentists receive basic orthodontic training which allows them to perform root canals, extract wisdom teeth, and treat young children who do not need to see an orthodontist yet.

Seeing a specialist like your Brentwood orthodontist may change your experience in braces by:

  • Providing additional treatment options.
  • Giving you more efficient treatment and visits, because it is the office's primary area of care.
  • Knowing that you'll receive the best possible outcome on your treatment plan, especially if you have severe bite problems that need to be addressed.
  • Personal experience treating multiple cases that share your unique concerns
  • Being seen more quickly, as a family dentist will be focused on longer patient cases or emergencies throughout the day.

You may think it's easier to have your orthodontic work completed by your dentist. Convenience shouldn't be a concern, because you will only be stopping by your Brentwood orthodontist's offices every six to eight weeks.

And don't let price be a problem either! Hann Orthodontics is proud to provide affordable treatment in the Brentwood area.
