Invisalign Treatment in Brentwood
Invisalign® treatment with Dr. Frank Hann and Dr. Kristen Hann and the team at Hann Orthodontics can give you beautiful, straight teeth without braces.
Custom & Flexible Treatment
For patients who prefer a more subtle and versatile orthodontic treatment, the Invisalign clear aligner system is our most popular alternative to traditional metal braces.
The clear, removable aligners are comfortable, convenient, and an excellent option for teens and adults looking for a discreet way to get the smile they desire.
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable aligners to achieve the same beautiful results as braces, but without any brackets or wires.
The plain plastic trays may seem like a simple design, but they’re actually made from a special type of thermoplastic resin that’s strong enough to move your teeth into alignment as you change these custom-made aligners weekly.
How does Invisalign work?
Once you have completed their initial exam with Dr. Frank Hann and Dr. Kristen Hann, and we’ve determined they’re a good fit for the Invisalign system, we can begin the process of custom designing your aligners. It starts with a highly detailed 3D scan of your teeth and gums.
We’ll use this scan to map out a precise treatment plan based on your needs and goals. Your plan will include the exact movement we want each tooth to make. With Invisalign, we’re even able to give you an estimate of how long we expect treatment to take and a preview of what your new smile will look like once treatment is complete!
The custom aligners used with the Invisalign system are created from a smooth and comfortable plastic that’s virtually invisible.
The total number of aligners you’ll wear during treatment will vary, as will the total treatment time. The average tends to be somewhere between 5 and 15 months. To maximize their effectiveness and see results, you must wear the aligners for 20-22 hours daily throughout your entire treatment.
Invisalign can only create a healthy, straight smile when you follow all of our team’s instructions.
You’ll generally switch your aligners out weekly based on your particular treatment plan, and we’ll schedule regular check-ups at our Brentwood office. These appointments will be roughly every four to eight weeks.
What are the benefits of Invisalign?
Invisalign’s biggest selling points are its near invisibility as well as its removability, but the benefits extend beyond that!
Because the Invisalign aligners are meant to be removed before eating or drinking anything other than water, there are no food restrictions, which can be one of the biggest learning curves with traditional braces.
With no wires or brackets to consider, you won’t have to take any of your favorite foods off the table during your Invisalign treatment.
Removable aligners also come in handy when it comes to allowing patients to continue their daily activities without much disturbance due to treatment. If you play contact sports, the aligners can be removed and replaced with a regular mouthguard.
Musicians also benefit since there are no wires or brackets to get in between them and their instrument. Invisalign is also perfect for special occasions like weddings, prom, homecoming, senior pictures, or any event where your natural smile is preferred.
The wires, brackets, and bands of traditional braces can sometimes make brushing and flossing correctly a time-consuming and challenging task While it’s important to have a good oral hygiene routine all the time, it’s a crucial part of successful orthodontic treatment.
With Invisalign, you can achieve this much easier, as aligners are simply taken out before brushing and flossing. Cleaning the aligners takes next to no time, as well. There are special kits available designed specifically to clean Invisalign aligners, or they can be gently cleaned using denture crystals and a soft toothbrush.
